Yesterday, we gathered for our Good Friday service, one of the more unique services in our church calendar. It is our tradition to corporately read aloud the passion narrative in the Gospel of John. Many of us have read this account so many times over the years that it becomes easy to overlook its weight — to let it become familiar, even flat. But reading it aloud together invites us to slow down. To feel the tension. To witness the betrayal, the injustice, the sorrow. It reawakens us to the depth of Jesus’ suffering, the beauty of His love, and the sheer triumph of His resurrection. We hope that you will join us tomorrow to celebrate His triumph over sin, death, and the grave. We’ll gather outdoors in Avondale Park’s amphitheater for two services at 8:00 and 10:00 AM.
