Redeemer Community Church

This past weekend, Redeemer Kids hosted their first-ever retreat for Club 56 – our church’s 5th and 6th graders – and what a joy it was. With students from so many different schools, one of the ongoing challenges of this ministry is creating space for real connection outside Sunday mornings. From cheering at the high ropes course to gathering around the campfire, from canoeing and hiking to spontaneous games of chess, the weekend was filled with life, fellowship, and laughter. More important than the fun, though, was the hope that these kids would truly encounter Jesus. Away from routines and screens, they had opportunities to worship, open God’s Word, and pray in ways that stretched and strengthened their faith. Fifth and sixth grade is such a tender season, a time when many of them begin to make their faith their own while still looking for guidance. It was a gift to see them step out with courage as they read Scripture aloud, prayed in small groups, and lifted their voices in praise. One of the most moving moments came Saturday morning as all 29 kids spread across camp with a Bible and journal, spending quiet time alone with the Lord. That night, as they worshiped at sunset overlooking the valley, it was hard not to be deeply moved by the beauty of creation, the joy of community, and the faithful presence of Jesus in it all. The Redeemer Kids team is grateful for the ways God met these students at Camp Winnataska, for His protection, and for the growing fellowship they now share. Please join us in praying that the seeds planted this weekend would grow into lasting, vibrant faith.
