Last Thursday evening we hosted a parenting seminar led by child therapists, who also happen to be faithful members of our church family. Ella Walker and Christy Harmon shared so many great strategies for helping our kids (and ourselves) understand and work through worry and anxiety. Some of the biggest encouragements they shared came straight from Scripture: John 8:32 doesn’t say “you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you have anxiety.. or try harder.. or feel guilt.” It says the Truth will set us FREE! We have hope in parenting because Jesus is our hope! He is also our kids’ hope and He calls us to run to Him, to rely on His strength, to believe what He says about us. Psalm 73:26 is true in parenting and in all we do - “My flesh and my heart may fail, BUT GOD is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Thank you @christy_harmon & @ellalwalker for sharing your heart and your wisdom with us!
