Throughout the Gospels, Jesus calls people to follow him. When he calls his disciples, they leave their nets, their tax booths, and their former lives behind. This same call is extended to all of us. It is simple and direct, though it rarely comes with guarantees or a clear roadmap. To follow Jesus is to look at who he is and, in faith, give ourselves fully to him. It is not limited to one area of life or a season, but shapes our whole selves. In following him, we find forgiveness, family, purpose, and life. Jesus says, “Follow me.” At this year’s Missions Summit, we invite you to consider that call. From February 22-26, we will look to Scripture and hear stories from members of our church who have responded to God’s call on their lives. Together, we will consider how God is at work and how we might take our next step in following Jesus. For more information on this amazing weekend, visit rccbirmingham.org/summit.
