A few days before Best Würst Fest, the text thread for the Würst Team was blowing up. Rain was in the forecast, and it’s been years since Redeemer has faced bad weather on one of our favorite nights. Over the next few hours, the team rearranged plans to provide as much indoor space as possible, all in the hope our church family would brave the elements for something as ridiculous as sausage. Well, without question, our family showed up. We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who joined us for our 17th-annual gathering, braving the cold, the rain, and the tight spaces to be together. We’re also incredibly thankful for everyone who made it such a success, such as the 100+ day-of volunteers, the Home Groups who prepped during the week, or the incredible team at Christian Service Mission. If you know someone who helped out this year, please let them know that their efforts were worth it. And because no rainstorm can dampen Redeemer’s competitive spirit, congratulations to the winners of our first-ever tug-of-war competition! The Marcrom Home Group (a.k.a. The Bread Winners) bested Rev. JEB & His Elect to take home the crown. The rain made for some tough conditions, but also quite the spectacle. We’ll see if the Bread Winners can defend their title next year, because we’ll absolutely be back.
